We get asked what our jewelry is made of more than almost anything else, so here it is, plainly.
Gold
Most of what we make is solid 14K gold: gold all the way through, not a coating. 14K means 58.5% pure gold, mixed with other metals for strength, and we make it in yellow, white and rose. A few designs are in 9K or 18K gold instead, and the product page always says which. For bespoke pieces, we can also work in platinum on request, quoted individually.
Diamonds
Our diamonds are lab-grown unless a product page says otherwise, and every product page tells you which. A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond: the same chemistry, the same crystal, the same sparkle as a mined one, grown in a lab instead of dug from the ground. Lab-grown diamonds also generally cost less than comparable natural diamonds, which means more stone for your budget.
A handful of designs use natural diamonds, such as CADENCE, TRIO and DUO. When that's the case, the product page says so.
Colored stones
We work with natural colored gemstones, including ruby, citrine, amethyst and tourmaline, and with moissanite, which is lab-grown. Every natural stone is a little different from the next, which is part of the charm.
A few things to know, so you're never guessing: our rubies are natural and heat-treated, and our black diamonds are natural diamonds that have been heat-treated.
Silver and vermeil
A few designs, like the DOT Cuff, come in sterling silver or 3-micron gold vermeil, which is a layer of gold over a sterling silver base. They're a lovely way into The DOT, and they like a little more care than solid gold. Our care guide has the details.
And the rest
Designed in Israel. Our jewelry is crafted by skilled jewelry professionals, with many pieces made to order just for you.
If you ever want to know exactly what's in a piece you're considering, just ask. We'd rather tell you.
