Jewelry Warranty & Care

Made to live in. Made to last.

Your Ruby & Dot jewelry is designed to be worn, loved, and enjoyed. A little care goes a long way in keeping it looking its best.

Our Jewelry Warranty

Ruby & Dot provides a limited manufacturing warranty, beginning on the date your jewelry is delivered. The length of coverage depends on the metal of your piece:

  • Solid gold jewelry (9K, 14K and 18K) — covered for twelve months (one year) from the date of delivery. The same terms apply whatever the karat.
  • Sterling silver and gold vermeil jewelry — covered for six months from the date of delivery.

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes and gold vermeil is a plated finish, so these materials naturally show wear sooner than solid gold — which is why their coverage period is shorter.

The warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects in materials and craftsmanship arising under normal and appropriate use.

Examples of potentially covered issues include defective clasps, faulty soldering, or stone-setting defects attributable to manufacturing.

Each claim will be assessed individually.

Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we will arrange an appropriate repair or replacement, subject to availability and applicable law.

This voluntary warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

What's Not Covered?

Our voluntary warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage, impact, or improper handling.
  • General wear and tear, including scratches and dents.
  • Damage caused by perfumes, chemicals, cleaning products, or improper storage.
  • Lost or stolen jewelry.
  • Damage resulting from unauthorized alterations or repairs.
  • Damage caused by improper use or failure to follow care instructions.
  • Gradual wear or fading of gold vermeil or other plated finishes through ordinary use.

Stone loss is assessed according to its cause. Loss resulting from a confirmed manufacturing or setting defect may be covered, while loss resulting from accidental damage or misuse is excluded from the voluntary warranty.

Caring for Your Jewelry

Solid Gold (9K, 14K and 18K)

Solid gold is made for lasting wear, but it can still scratch or become damaged.

Clean gently with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning products.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver may naturally tarnish over time.

Store it in a dry place and clean using a suitable silver-polishing cloth.

Gold Vermeil

Our gold vermeil features a 3-micron layer of gold over sterling silver.

To preserve its finish:

  • Remove before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping.
  • Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products.
  • Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
  • Store separately in a dry place to minimize friction and scratches.

Gold vermeil is a plated finish. Gradual wear is a natural characteristic of the material and is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Diamonds & Gemstones

Diamonds are durable, but their settings still require care.

Natural gemstones vary in hardness and sensitivity. Some may be affected by heat, chemicals, or sudden temperature changes.

Avoid exposing your jewelry to harsh cleaning products or unnecessary impact.

We recommend having frequently worn gemstone jewelry inspected periodically to ensure its settings remain secure.
