MATERIALS & CARE.
Two clearly different tiers, explained plainly. So you always know exactly what you're wearing.

Fine jewelry
- Solid 9K, 14K or 18K gold, depending on the piece
- Natural and lab-grown diamonds, where specified
- Natural gemstones, where specified
Made to be worn every day for decades. Gold all the way through — never plated.

Vermeil
- Sterling silver
- 3-micron gold vermeil
- Available on selected designs
Our accessible tier. Real precious metal with a thick layer of gold, for the look of gold at a gentler price.
Solid gold: 9K, 14K and 18K
Karat tells you how much pure gold an alloy contains: 9K is 37.5%, 14K is 58.5% and 18K is 75% pure gold, alloyed with other metals for strength and color. Each piece is made in specific karats and colors — yellow, white or rose — shown on its product page. Not every piece is offered in every karat or color, and price and specifications differ between karats.
14K solid gold
14K gold is 58.5% pure gold, alloyed with other metals for strength. It won't wear away, tarnish or turn your skin green. Available in yellow, white and rose gold, depending on the piece.
Natural diamonds
Formed in the earth over billions of years. Where a piece uses natural diamonds, we say so clearly on the product page.
Laboratory-grown diamonds
Chemically, physically and optically the same as natural diamonds — grown in a lab rather than mined. They look identical and cost less. Lab-grown is always labeled as lab-grown.
Natural gemstones
Rubies, sapphires and other stones are natural unless we say otherwise. Each has slight variations in color and character — part of what makes your piece yours.
3-micron gold vermeil
A sterling silver base covered in a 3-micron layer of gold — many times thicker than ordinary gold plating. With care it keeps its color for years; over time it can soften and can be re-plated.
Rhodium-plated sterling silver
For white-metal options in our vermeil tier, sterling silver may be finished with rhodium for a bright white shine and extra tarnish resistance. Sterling silver can darken naturally; it polishes back easily.
Jewelry care
- Put jewelry on last, after lotions, perfume and hairspray.
- Take vermeil and silver off before swimming, showering or exercising.
- Store pieces separately in the pouch they came in, away from moisture.
- Polish gently with a soft, dry cloth. No harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners for gemstones or vermeil.
- Solid gold can be cleaned with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush.
